How to choose first-class Brick?

There are different types of brick in the market, and it is important to choose the right one for your construction project. Read all the properties of first-class brick and apply the test on brick to select the right brick for netter serviceability and durability.

How to choose the first-class brick :

Observe the dimension of the brick, it is following the standard dimension or not.
The shape should not be a Distorted shape.
the colour of the brick should be cherry red colour and smooth surface.
Take two bricks in your hand and just Struck to each other, which will give a metallic sound if it is a first-class brick.
Try to make a scratch impression by nail, if it is first class brick, then it is very much difficult to make an impression on the surface of the first-class brick.
Take a brick and measure its dry weight and note down the value, after that take a bucket of water and pour that brick on water, and left for 24 hours, then check its wet weight. If it is a first-class brick then the water absorption rate will be less than or equal to 20 % of the dry weight of the brick.
If a Universal testing machine is available then just find out the compressive strength of the brick, for the first-class brick it will be greater than or equal to 10.5 N/mm².
